Mayor's Thames Festival

Classic Boat Festival at St Katharine Docks

Classic Boat Festival at St Katharine Docks

If you live in or around London, or plan to visit this September, don’t miss the Mayor’s Thames Festival. Running from Friday 6 to Sunday 15 September, it stages an inspiring 10-day celebration of London’s iconic river through art, music, and educational events, both on the water and along its banks and bridges - many of them free to join.

With the principal focus being between Lambeth Bridge and St Katharine Docks, activities will also take place this year from the source of the Thames down to its mouth. Highlights include:
• a rally of historic Dunkirk Little Ships,
• History of St Katharine Docks Exhibition,
• Classic Boat festival at St Katharine Docks,
• Great River Race – Saturday 7 Sept – a river marathon from Docklands to Ham featuring more than 300 crews,
• Barge-driving races,
• Your opportunity to get afloat – from canoeing under Tower Bridge, to experiencing a classic Thames barge.

Our shop in St Katharine Docks is perfectly located at the centre of the event, offering a large range of boating and outdoor leisure clothing by Henri Lloyd and Weird Fish alongside our traditional brass instruments, model ships, and collectables.

Our nearby stores in Greenwich (only 100yds from Cutty Sark and the National Maritime Museum) and Covent Garden (downstairs in the courtyard of the bustling historic market) will also be delighted to welcome you.
