These versatile inflatable kayaks are probably the best way to get afloat with the absolute minimum of hassle. In many ways they are more fun than larger craft too: you are much closer to the water, can travel almost silently (so tend to get closer to wildlife) and able to reach quiet back-waters and creeks that 'normal' boats don't get near.
