Henry Dreyfuss - one of the most prolific industrial designers of the 20^th century - took the ear to mouth measurements of 2000 people to create the ergonomic handset of his iconic type 302 phone, introduced in 1937. And it was a worthwhile exercise: it "feels right", from the very first time you pick one up. His was also the first phone to incorporate the bell in the base, giving that distinctive look, and ring tone, so many of us will recognise from our youth.

Our replica retains the correct proportions, a distinctively non-modern weightiness, and that all-important metal bell, but is updated with convenient push button dialling, a redial button, and can be plugged straight into a standard phone socket. We are sure Henry would have approved!
