This fascinating German-made kit contains all the wood and metal components (plus comprehensive instructions!) you need to build a solar-propelled, six-legged, “Mars Explorer” walking robot.

From sanding the edges of the wood pieces to assembling the gearbox it’s a fascinating and involved process; and when it’s all finished there is much satisfaction to be had from observing the movement of a mechanical object that you built yourself.
