Most coffee makers seem to be extremely complicated to use, and their need for mains power makes them impractical on a boat or in a campervan. But all you really need for a decent Espresso is hot water (about 90C - hotter will make the coffee taste bitter) and pressure, so this award winning alternative assumes that you already have a kettle and is pressurised by the action of its twin arms. That's before we mention it looks amazing and imparts a delightful ritualistic element to the coffee-creation process - a real after-dinner talking point. A very clever British design, simplicity itself to use.
