Once the stuff of science fiction, electromagnetic levitation is now reality - and here it has been miniaturised to create a mesmerising desk ornament.

The array of powerful magnets generates an “anti-gravity field” in the centre of the base, over which the globe hovers and spins, with no visible means of support. Blue LED lighting enhances the appearance.
 
Once you get the hang of finding the balance point for the levitation platform you can also hover/spin almost any other small object (weighing up to 3-oz) in perpetuity, much to the amazement of all visitors.
