The classic gamekeepers bag is carried on one shoulder, or across the body, and has been in use many hundreds of years to carry heavy loads of fish and game across the hills. It was in use long before the rucksack, and is incredibly comfortable even after several hours trekking, also offering the advantage of quick and easy access to the contents.

The gamekeepers bag does retain its practicality, but is made from top quality (soft but durable) leather with a suede lining, for a touch of luxury, and nods to modern life in the form of a mobile phone pocket and a zipped passport/wallet compartment. Its uncluttered large main compartment (large laptop size) is supplemented by a full width slip pocket across the back (perfect for a newspaper) and two smaller pockets on the front. The gamekeepers bag is very smart and as a result can be considered a less formal alternative to the briefcase and could be used as an overnight bag when you are travelling light.
