Land Rover Defender 90 - The Best Four by Four by Far
94462 Land Rover Defender, £69.99
***Limited Edition of 1000***
The original Land Rover rolled off the production line in 1948 - and kept going in various incarnations for 67 years. Virtually unstoppable over almost any terrain, it was an immediate success with farmers and the emergency services.
Engines ranged from the original 2.25 petrol and a couple of diesels, to a hefty V8. They may not have been fast, but they had masses of pulling power - Land Rovers could really talk the torque! They became the first choice for military use the world over, starred in Bond films, and dominated the Camel Trophy Rally.
But as of December 2015 production of the Defender ceased - the victim of stringent emissions and safety regulations. We couldnt let their passing go without a memorial, hence this diecast Defender 90 TD5 model. Superbly detailed, with opening doors and working steering, the only thing lacking is a spattering of mud!
A fitting tribute to the ultimate off-roader and a great British tradition. 1:18 Scale, 8" long. Limited to just 1,000 worldwide.
