The Stanley Steam Car
NOW from £733.06
The Stanley Steamer was in production from 1896 to 1924, and is most famous for setting a dramatic new land speed record of 127mph, at Orlando Sands in Florida in 1907. Its phenomenal torque from low revs means that no gearbox or clutch were necessary - the engine was connected directly to the back axle. Our exclusive model is remarkably authentic, driven by a tiny two cylinder engine powered by steam from a lighter-gas fired boiler. It even has working leaf-spring suspension and is supplied with full remote control kit. Available ready-built or as a kit to assemble yourself (takes about 8 hours to complete). Length 10", height 5.5".
