Traction engines were the mobile power source of the coal age, used to power everything from boatyard haul-out winches to farm machinery and fairground rides. The operating experience of our model is very authentic and, once the boiler is up to heat, the engine has sufficient torque to push the considerable weight of the whole vehicle along at considerable speed. This model has geared rather than belt drive to the rear wheels and rack and pinion steering. The solid fuel tablets and lubrication oil are supplied - just add water!

It is hot, and has sharp bits, so we're not allowed to call it a children's toy now, but it is certainly great fun. For ages 14-140.
