Nauticalia

A reproduction of the classic big Ship's binnacle, affectionately nicknamed by the countless sailors, who relied on it to guide them, as "Faithful Fred" reflecting its vital role on board, the gimballed compass is massively protected inside a brass hood with a glass viewing port, and mounted on a sturdy teak column. "Kelvin Spheres" are mounted either side for deviation correction, with brass-cased bubble inclinometer below the compass to indicate heel angle. The compass is functional but not suitable for serious navigation. Height is 53", width of base 19", weight 70kg.
