Traction engines were the mobile power source of the coal age, used to power everything from boatyard haul-out winches to farm machinery and fairground rides. The operating experience of our Classic British Steam Traction Engine is very authentic and, once the boiler is up to heat, the engine has sufficient torque to push the considerable weight of the whole vehicle along at considerable speed. The solid fuel tablets and lubrication oil are supplied - just add water! It is hot, and has sharp bits, so we're not allowed to call it a children's toy now, but it is certainly great fun.
