When timepieces were expensive and rare, those fortunate enough to own them would often find somewhere to hang up their pocket watches upon arrival at home - thus providing a double use as a bedside or mantelpiece clock (and putting them on display for envious visitors!).

In that tradition, this pocket-sized Davley barometer is supplied with a mirror polished chrome stand, weighted for stability and makes a highly unusual yet practical ornament. It is fitted with a stainless steel aneroid barometer movement, workings are visible through a central opening in the dial. 

It is beautifully made, and with its contrasting chrome and black leather trim, highly tactile.
