Nauticalia

Unlacquered brass that is left to itself gradually and naturally acquires a matt, green-tinged finish known as verdigris. It is not unattractive - and commonly achieved through lack of maintenance! These thermometers have been "chemically verdigrised" and then lightly polished in detail areas to give a pleasant contrast.

Both have scales marked in centigrade and Fahrenheit, with a red alcholol indicator tube.
