Fire-Eater Engine
from £149.00
Henry Wood was awarded the patent for the vacuum engine in 1758, but it was soon nicknamed the "fire-eater" for its apparent habit of swallowing entire flames.
These models are beautifully engineered working vacuum engines in miniature, and make a noise that is incomparable with any other means of propulsion that we have ever come across...they are external combustion heat exchange engines and run on methylated spirits.
The engines can be bought ready-to-run, or as a kit to make yourself. Each comes with a four wheeled platform to turn your static engine into a moving vehicle. Drive belt to connect engine and vehicle included.
The engine can be used on or off vehicle platform.
(96057) Fire-Eater engine, ready-built and vehicle platform, measures 8x5 x 5.5".
(96056) Fire-Eater engine, kit-form and vehicle platform - assembly should take approx 2hrs.
