This connoisseur's model of Lord Nelson's flagship is a masterpiece of detailing and authenticity. The hull is timber planked above the waterline and copper sheathed below it; the deck cannon and anchors are metal castings; the standing rigging hull ties are real chain. The detail is simply incredible. The flags shown are; at the bow, the Union Flag; on the mainmast, the defaced George Cross, signifying the presence of a Vice Admiral (Nelson's rank at Trafalgar) at the stern, the White Ensign. Her keel rests on solid turned brass uprights; these in turn are mounted on an oak base with copper end bands, all made from materials recovered from HMS Victory during refit.
This model is handmade and limited in quantity to 821 (the number of crew aboard at Trafalgar), with its place in the series pyrographed (burnt) into the oak. Comes supplied with numbered certificate of authenticity and "Muster Roll" of crewmembers at Trafalgar. Length 18½", height 15".
