As the Victorian era came to an end, British companies were unrivalled in the design and manufacture of steam-driven vehicles, exporting their products worldwide. It is testimony to their engineering excellence - and of course the dedication of their preservation teams - that so many of these 100-year-old leviathans survive today. This 1:50 scale die-cast metal model is superbly detailed.  
 
This 1922 Foden steam wagon had a 23bhp engine capable of 16mph, or 26mph (double the speed limit!) with the company's "special gearing".

Whitbread livery, 5½" long.
