As the Victorian era came to an end, British companies were unrivalled in the design and manufacture of steam-driven vehicles, exporting their products worldwide. It is testimony to their engineering excellence - and of course the dedication of their preservation teams - that so many of these 100-year-old leviathans survive today. This 1:50 scale die-cast metal model is superbly detailed.
John Fowler & Co. of Leeds were one of the better known steam builders; their mobile crane, dating from the early 1900s, was one of the most useful steam-driven vehicles.
7" long.
