Before the age of industrial production, tin toys (we are not allowed to call them toys now!) like these were made by hand in limited production batches. This tradition has been revived by a German family who believe passionately in preserving historic standards of build and craftmanship.
From a more elegant era, Joanna is similar to the steam-powered cargo ships that used to carry goods along our coast. She has a full working steam engiine to turn the propeller, and working steering.
