The reel with reversible handle (so you can use it right or left-handed) and line brake/clutch - is something of an engineering masterpiece.

The rod, made from aluminium alloy, has seven fibreglass draws that retract inside the handle for stowage (the reel detaches). A pen-style lid fits on top, giving a total length of just 8".
