The Rolls Royce of Rolls Royce’s, this magnificent Phantom V was already eight years old when the Queen used it on her visit to Bermuda in 1975. Prior to this date the car had an interesting, almost 'Ruritanian' history.

Commissioned by the Romanian government the massive Phantom V chassis (5LVF 113) had coachwork by Mulliner Park Ward to a design intended exclusively for heads of state. Features included a power-operated hood, power-adjustable rear seats plus a number of more unusual extras including a fridge, wine cooler and TV.

With a price tag of £20,000 - twice the cost of an 'average' Phantom V it was the most expensive State Landaulette to date. And that was the problem. While the Romanian government - headed by Nicolai Ceausescu - had the money, such a blatant example of capitalist excess was at odds with their communist ideology. So a year later, with only 1,500 on the clock, it was exchanged for a more modest model - if any Rolls Royce can be described as modest.

Splendidly detailed and exuding wealth, power and majesty, this 1:43 scale version is a truly exceptional collector's piece. Display case included.
