This lovely model car is driven by a working miniature Stirling engine, in which the heat source is outside the major mechanical parts and (unlike when you open the bonnet of a modern car) you can clearly see the process of converting heat energy to forward motion.
Made almost entirely from brass and stainless steel, it’s fascinating to watch, and exquisitely engineered.
Now, if only we could scale it up to road size… 6” long, 5” high, runs on methylated spirit (not included).
