Fancy yourself as a budding Ellen MacArthur, harnessing nature’s resources and cutting across the water under the power of the wind? Experience the joy of sailing with a half day or a full day course under the guidance of a qualified instructor learning the skills of sailing a yacht or dinghy. On the full day experience, you'll be taught the points of sail, rules of the waves and the gybe. A great introduction to the fun of sailing.

What happens on the day?
When you arrive, you will be issued with safety clothing and buoyancy aids etc. There will be a safety briefing and an outline of the course, before heading off in the sailing craft for a demonstration by the instructor and then hands-on sailing. In addition you will break for lunch and in the afternoon.

Falmouth in Cornwall, Brighton in Sussex.

When?
This activity runs on selected dates; subject to availability. Some centres only operate on certain days of the week, not always on weekends. We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available before the expiry date listed on the voucher. This is only a guideline and we advise you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. You must book and take your experience before the expiry date. All bookings are subject to availability.

What shall I wear?

Non-slip shoes are essential. Comfortable casual clothes appropriate for the time of year and weather forecast. Bring a change of clothes for the end of the day. All other equipment (e.g. lifejackets, harness etc) will be provided.

How long shall I allow for this experience?

Restrictions?
Minimum age - 12 (Under 18s need parent/guardian consent). Maximum weight - 18 stones (115kgs). Participants should be in reasonable health and agile enough to climb around the vessel.
