With vacuum cleaners, miniaturisation usually means less power. Not this one though: it measures just 12x8x8" but is rated at 750Watts, and actually feels like more than that if you put your hand over the end (be careful!). It's certainly more than adequate for clearing up things like pet hair and spilt food, and ideally sized for cleaning out boats, caravans and cars (also your stairs).
