Bassett-Lowke Peckett Industrial 0-4-0 Steam Engines
was £279.00 NOW £199.00
Beckett and Sons manufactured small steam engines for industrial and shunting use, and were based in Bristol. The 0-4-0 saddle tank was one of their most popular designs, and many worked in collieries, factories and docks across the world during the first half of the twentieth century.
It was a tough and durable workhorse, and consequently, some still survive today on heritage railways.
Both models have smoke generators, and are strictly limited to 250 in each colour, individually numbered. Each is named after the Christian names of the founder, W.J. Bassett-Lowke.
Length 6½.
More Information: Bassett-Lowke 0-Gauge electric model steam trains are individually made from soldered sheet metal, much as they have been since the company started in 1899. The quality is superb, with beautiful paintwork and detailing, and, whilst most model steam trains are fully functional, many are now bought by collectors for display.
