When Sir Francis Chichester sailed Gipsy Moth IV into Plymouth on 28 May 1967 he had broken countless records and became an instant national hero. Gipsy Moth was put on display in dry dock at Greenwich, next to the Cutty Sark in the expectation that she would never sail again. Over the next 35 years she suffered the ravages of acid rain, tourism and neglect, and by the turn of the century she was in a sorry state. The UK marine industry agreed to fund her restoration, and decided that the most appropriate option was to put her back in service as a sail training ship. In 2007 she completed a circumnavigation to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Chichester's voyage.

Written by Yachting Monthly editor Paul Gelder, this book details the history of Gipsy Moth IV, including Chichester's original voyage, restoration and recent circumnavigation.
