When travelling overseas, with your watch on local time, it would be very useful if it also told the time back home. Better still if it told you whether it was day or night. This watch does both, without the need for a digital display. Its special red GMT24 hour indicator hand goes round at half the standard rate (ie one full rotation per day instead of two), and can be set independently of the normal hands when required. It is thus excellent for navigation, where the standard (for log books etc) is to use GMT but "Ship's Time" is often different for the convenience of the crew.
