Square-rigged sailing ships had several miles of rigging that involved thousands of knots - from simple hitches to ornate Turk's Heads. In learning to tie them, apprentices found that knotboards served as useful references and displays of their skills.

Today they are popular showpieces in yacht clubs, restaurants, pubs and homes.

Our range is made by skilled, efficient craftsmen who reproduce the ancient skills The knots are tied in natural cotton cord on a black velveteen background and displayed in glass fronted wood frames with chunky brass corners.
