Gemstone Globes are unique works of art, made by setting hand-carved, country-shaped sections of coloured gemstones into a "sea" of blue Lapis Lazuli or white Mother of Pearl. Over 30 different varieties of stone are used, each geographically-placed to indicate the territories for which they are best known - the effect is stunning and, because natural materials are used, no two globes are identical. The finished spheres are polished to an exceptionally smooth finish and set on 24 carat gold-plated metal stands on which they can be rotated in all directions, for close study of any part.
