Canon, the precision optical specialists, have solved an age-old problem - the impossibility of holding binoculars steady enough to read or identify distant objects when trying to do so in a choppy sea, or shivering in the dawn chill, or simply having shaky wrists. Just how their revolutionary electronically balanced pair works is a bit of a mystery to us, but work it most certainly does. As soon as you press the "Stabilise" button the image becomes superbly clear, taking out the "shake" and absolutely transforming the view. It is like using them on a tripod on steady ground, but without the need for the tripod or the steady ground! They magnify eight times through 25mm object lenses.
