If you are a newcomer to astronomy, this telescope is a very capable starting point. It has a multi-coated, 70mm object lens - rare at this price, capable of gathering 36% more light than the 60mm lens found in most rivals - and a focal length of 36" (900mm).
Magnification of x36, x72, x90 and x180 are achievable with the optics included. Its red dot finder makes initial orientation relatively simple, and the equatorial mount makes it easier to track stars in continuous motion. The adjustable tripod with accessory tray (included) and main tube are made from rolled steel, not plastic.
