D-Day, 6th June 1944, was the largest amphibious invasion of all time, with 175,000 troops delivered by ship, parachute and glider aircraft.
Air cover was a vital element, and this limited edition commemorative print depicts Spitfires often described as the plane that won the war over the eastern flank of the battlefield.
At the bottom of the frame are mounted authenticated segments of parachute cloth recovered from a field in Normandy, a piece of fuselage from Spitfire Mk I X4473, and the signatures of 24 veterans of which, sadly, 12 have now passed away.
Frame measures 32x30".
