Identify Stars & Planets in Seconds
Previously, star identifying and locating devices have relied on some version of you looking at a map, and comparing it with the night sky that you can see: it can all be a bit vague. This one has a built-in GPS system using signals from up to 12 different satellites - it knows exactly where you are and what direction you are facing - so can point you directly at the desired object, or identify it if you have seen something of interest but don't know what it is.
The sophisticated electronic memory stores over 6,000 celestial objects, together with audio and text descriptions (history, mythology etc), and has a superb "Tonight's Highlights" feature that works out (and then shows you) the 20 best objects to view where you are right now. There is no better way to observe, navigate and learn about the night sky.

Pack includes CD tutorial (it is very simple to use), headphones and storage case. Uses two AA batteries (see 93195 below), measures 7 x 4 x 2½".
