The days when swords were used in battle may be long past, but Her Majesty's Navy still demands the very finest for those worn by its officers on ceremonial occasions. Created by skilled British craftsmen using the finest materials, this sword is produced to standards that are almost unheard of in modern-day manufacturing. The 31" stainless steel blade, beautifully engraved, is topped by a gold-plated brass hilt, white fishskin covered grip and a backpiece surmounted with a lion head pommel. Each is rigorously tested before it leaves the factory, including an 1843 bending machine that stresses the blade beyond the point where anything else would snap - and then is only passed "fit for service" if it flexes back "100% straight and true". The rawhide scabbard is made to similarly high standards. A genuine masterpiece of British craftsmanship, made available to our customers by special arrangement.
