It is said that Admiral Sir Francis Drake, on hearing of the approach of the Spanish Armada, refused to set sail with the British Fleet until he had finished his game of Bowls on Plymouth Hoe. The truth was that the tide was wrong so they couldn't leave - but it makes a great story! (Later, when conditions were right, he defeated the Armada by sailing burning ships into their fleet.) Our Bowls sets consist of eight colour-coded bowls and a jack, all made from injection-moulded plastic. The GARDEN SET (main picture), is specially designed with extra bias (curve) compared to "professional" versions, to allow for most garden lawns not actually being "bowling green" standard! Each bowl is 3.75" in diameter and weighs 14-oz (400g). Supplied in a 31" long storage and carry bag. LARGE CARPET BOWLS SET - bowls diameter 2.5", comes supplied in storage box. Our INDOOR CARPET SET is a smaller version for playing in the living room. Each bowl is 2" in diameter, supplied in a storage box.
