Commercial Financial Controller - Full time, Permanent
 
Salary £45 - £50k per annum plus contributory pension scheme 
 
Based at our head office in Shepperton, overlooking the river Thames, there is an opportunity for a commercially experienced and focused finance professional to provide a key operational role overseeing all financial aspects of the business, and to provide strategic support to the managing director. The role is responsible for the overall financial control, management and statutory reporting of the trading companies plus company secretarial duties. The person will join the company at a critical stage in the restructuring process with involvement as part of the team implementing the new computer system and transition from the legacy systems.
 
This is a wide ranging role that requires a strong commercial business understanding, an ability to get “hands-on” quickly, learn all aspects of the accounting for the various revenue streams and mentor the incumbent finance team, especially in the migration to the new computer systems. There will initially be guidance and input from the outgoing financial controller and a senior finance interim who will be leading the accounting element of the system implementation.
The person should be able to communicate and interact at all levels within the business in a professional and personable manner as would be expected within a family oriented business.
 
Responsibilities;
Ownership of the financial ledgers, controls and reconciliations of the holding company and its subsidiaries.
Preparation of consolidated management accounts and development of suitable KPI’s.
Preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Year-end statutory accounts preparation for audit and corporation tax purposes.
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Managing daily and forecast cash flows, including foreign currency.
Control on line banking and liaise with the banks as and when required.
Monitor and reconcile UK and foreign bank accounts and currency options.
Perform periodic checks to include float checks, petty cash, cash security and clearance of control accounts.
Inter-company accounting and reconciliations.
Oversee purchase and sales ledgers, stock, expense reimbursements and company credit cards.
Oversee outsourced payroll, PAYE/NI payments, reconciliations and auto enrolment pension.  
Maintain the fixed assets register and depreciation calculations.
Preparation and reconciliation of VAT returns, Intrastat reports, EC sales lists and CT61 returns.
Operational and strategic project and other ad hoc work as required.
 
Required skills;

Ability to manage a complex business with multiple revenue streams.
An ability to work to tight deadlines.

Good organisational and planning. 
A good understanding of business as well as financial issues.
Lots of energy and the enthusiasm to get stuck in and help wherever needed.
 
Systems experience;
Microsoft Excel – advanced, (including V look-up and pivot tables), intermediate in Word and other packages. 
ERP integrated system – for example Netsuite, Oracle, SAP Business One or equivalent  
ODBC data extraction and analysis in Excel.

KSE (Kerridge) software
 
Education;
Degree standard education
CIMA or ACCA qualified
