Our friends at Icarus Originals are proud to produce this unique limited edition model of ‘HMS Hermes’, the flagship of the Royal Navy taskforce that re-captured the Islands, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 1982 Falklands conflict.

Now you can own a piece of British naval history, as each model is manufactured from the original flight deck recovered during the vessel’s disassembly; the recovered metal has been melted down and folded into copper to form the marine bronze used for casting. Model measures 12cm long and sits on a wooden base measuring 13x8cm and arrives gift boxed with an individually-numbered certificate of authenticity and information booklet on the ship’s history.

These models are entirely designed, made and hand finished in the UK, and a donation on every sale will be paid to Falklands Veterans Foundation and its operation of ‘Liberty Lodge’ in Port Stanley. Moreover, the manufacturing of the product supports veterans in the UK too; Icarus Originals was co–founded by a blind ex Royal Navy Officer, whilst the wooden plinth is made by Veterans Woodcraft in Yorkshire.

We offer three UK delivery options:
Standard UK Delivery: £4.99.
On this service, goods will usually arrive within 14 days of your order reaching us, and often in less than 10. (Please remember that if you posted your order it may have taken up to five days to get here).
3-Day Delivery: £6.99. This is a three-working-day (not Saturday, Sunday, or Bank Holidays) service for UK mainland and Ulster addresses, provided that you order before 1pm. Orders received after 1pm will be processed on the next working day, so take one day longer to arrive. If you require an item to be personalised, your order will be delayed by one working day.
Express Delivery: £9.99. This is a next-working-day (not Saturday, Sunday, or Bank Holidays) service for UK mainland and Ulster addresses, provided that you order before 1pm. Orders received after 1pm will be processed on the next working day, so take one day longer to arrive. Service to Scotland, Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight and other UK Islands takes two days. If you require an item to be personalised, your order will take an additional working day. Your package will arrive between 9am and 6pm (may be up to 8pm), and must be signed for on receipt, so please give an address where there will be somebody available to take delivery (perhaps a neighbour/friend, or your workplace if your employer permits this).

Grossly disappointed

It has often been said a company can be judged by its ‘customer service’. In my recent experience purchasing the above limited edition item I shan’t be purchasing from Nauticalia again. In addition I will not be surprised if they delete this negative feedback.

A Wonderful Reminder For Those Lost In The Falklands Conflict

This is a superbly poignant tribute to all those who fought, some of whom lost their lives, to Keep The Falkland Islands British following the Invasion of the Islands by forces of the Argentine military Junta on 2nd April 1982. It is also a most evocative model.
