***Limited Edition of 1,100***

The career of Sir Matthew Brown Frew reads like that of a quintessential British hero from a wartime novel. Having enlisted in the Highland Light Infantry at the outbreak of the First World War, Frew transferred to 45 Sqn Royal Flying Corps in August 1916, achieving 'fighter ace' status in the summer of the following year.

By the time the war ended, Frew had notched up 23 aerial victories, a Military Cross, and a Distinguished Service Order medal amongst other awards.

He retired in 1948 at the rank of Air Vice Marshall.

By way of tribute, Sopwith Camel B6372 in which Frew achieved 12 of his WWI victories is modelled here at 1:48 scale and at a level of detail which demonstrates the fragility of these aircraft and the exposure faced by the pilots.

Limited Edition of 1100 and comes with its own Aviators Archive Collectors card.

Wingspan 7". Scale 1:48.

Hornby

Hornby is a household name and is famous as the UK brand leader in the model railway hobby. The company’s founder was Frank Hornby (1863 - 1936) who applied for a patent in 1901 to protect an invention he called ‘Improvements in Toy or Educational Devices for Children and Young People’. Nobody then could have imagined how this product would influence the model railway hobby that we know today.

Limited Edition

Art prints and collectables are often produced as numbered limited editions, and are provided with certificates confirming their authenticity and position within the collection. This limited availablilty increases their value, making them more desirable. Take the opportunity to be one of only a few people in the world to own this model.
