Details
Mysterious and intriguing puzzle boxes were particularly popular in Victorian England – for the safekeeping of secrets and precious jewellery - and it is from them that Ugears take inspiration for this remarkable treasure box. Access requires a key, but the key can only be revealed by solving a step-by-step mechanical puzzle. When the box is finally opened, inside you will find a small compartment for jewellery, notes and other small items.
It is supplied as a kit, with 190 laser-cut plywood components that fit together precisely without tools or glue. Guided by easy-to-follow instructions, assembly should take around 4 hours, and the box measures 5½x5½x3½” (14x14x9cm) when complete. A fascinating gift on its own or – assembled by you – could contain a surprise gift within.

UGears
Ugears was founded in Ukraine in 2014 to create imaginative wooden model kits that can be assembled without glue. The designs are based on real-life mechanisms – many of which are self-propelled, and all are eye-catching and intriguing to watch.
