Details
We named the Barrington after Admiral Samuel Barrington (1729-1800) - veteran of the Seven Years’ War and Commander of the Leeward Islands Squadron. It is a charming little desktop clock cast in brass with an antique finish and faux leather binding around the edge. The stand is adjustable in angle to suit your view. Quartz movement uses 1xAA battery (not included). Stands 4.5" tall.

Quartz Movement
Quartz (silicon dioxide) crystals possess the remarkable property of oscillating at a very regular and predictable frequency when subjected to an electrical current. The first commercially available clocks to exploit this appeared in the late 1920s, and went on to supersede mechanical movements thanks to their accuracy and reduced need for maintenance.
